Position: 4th Grade Teaching Position
Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, Kansas City’s only K-12 Jewish community day school, seeks to hire an enthusiastic educator to serve as a 4th Grade Teacher
 
The successful candidate will:
  • have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s prefered) and teaching background and a genuine interest in working with Lower School students
  • have experience teaching at the elementary level
  • demonstrate an innovative and energetic approach to teaching
  • demonstrate knowledge of 21st Century skills, differentiated instruction, modeling and project-based learning
  • have pedagogical experience with a wide variety of technology formats, platforms and applications
  • be committed to professional growth and professional sharing
  • work collaboratively with members of the English and Social Studies departments K-12 as well as teachers in other disciplines to provide a rich and integrated program
Qualifications: Education degree and teaching license preferred, experience teaching the Everyday Mathematics program and the Wonders Reading Series preferred, experience teaching Lower School students preferred

Position: Teacher's Aide

The successful candidate will:
  • have a Bachelor’s degree and teaching background and a genuine interest in working with children
  • have prior experience working with children
  • demonstrate an energetic approach to working with a team
  • demonstrate knowledge of classroom management techniques, modeling conflict resolution strategies
  • be committed to professional growth 
  • work collaboratively with all members of the HBHA team

Position
: Para educator
An HBHA Para educator would work under the general supervision of the principal and student services department to assist HBHA K-12 students in and around the school environment.  This would include but not be limited to assisting students in peer interactions on the playground, in the general education classroom, in small groups and one-on-one. This person would be flexible and available to be used as needed throughout the building.
Essential Job Functions of the Para educator:  
  • Social learning education and support
  • Behavioral support as directed
  • Academic support in a 1:1 or in small group settings
Requirements:
  •          Ability to maintain confidentiality
  •          Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form
  •          Ability to remain calm under trying circumstances
  •          Ability to work with other education professionals
  •          Experience working with the children and children with special learning challenges, preferred
